George Ladbury died from wounds on 7th October, 1916, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 12th East Surrey battalion were part of 122 Brigade, 41st Division, that had arrived in France in May, 1916 and had seen action during the Battle of the Somme that summer.
